Climate Conference: Last Chance for Humanity?

The United Nations is warning of “climate chaos with millions of dead and refugees.” Can the climate conference in Katowice find ways to allow the human race to survive? Our guests: Claudia Kemfert (DIW), Grace Dobush (Handelsblatt Global), Petra Pinzler (Zeit)

Petra Pinzler - she works for Germany's leading weekly Die Zeit. She and her family tried out the climate neutral lifestyle and she wrote a book about their experience. She says: " In spite of all the climate conferences, most people just don't realise how much their own personal lifestyles speed up climate change. Everybody can make a difference. Here and now!"

Grace Dobush works for Handelsblatt Global. And she says: “Business can put the brakes on climate change, but first it has to realize it's in the driver's seat.”

Claudia Kemfert, is head of Energy, Transportation and Environment at the German Institute for Economic Research and is a Professor of Energy Economics and Sustainability. She says "Effective measures for climate protection free up enormous economic potential for modernization, innovation and technological progess. We need an intelligent framework to enhance these economic opportunities."
