Coffee is healthy
March 31, 2015For years it was believed that excessive coffee consumption is unhealthy. But now that’s been revised. In the journal “Heart”, which is available online, researchers from South Korea have reported that moderate coffee consumption is healthy for both the heart and cardiovascular system, and can even reduce coronary artery calcium deposits. People who drink three to five cups of coffee per day are less likely to develop clogged arteries, the study found. The South Korean researchers examined more than 25,000 people and discovered that the greatest coronary artery calcium deposits were found in people who drink little or no coffee, and in people who drink very large amounts of coffee. But more research is needed to find out what the reasons for this association might be.
