And that certainly applies for English fans. Kick off! took a sample of opinion among supporters of Arsenal and Chelsea. What do they think about the two Ruhr Valley clubs and their potential? Last season's Champions League runners-up Dortmund are better known, of course - and their charismatic coach Jürgen Klopp now has a cult following in England.

It's results that really matter, however - and that means Dortmund beating Arsenal while Schalke lost at home to Chelsea. But as one Chelsea fan said so wisely: "In England, it does happen, that the lower team will beat the upper team or get a surprise result. It does happen a lot."
