Two compacts compared: the Renault Clio from France and the Kia Rio from Korea. The Renault Clio has been around since 1990 and has been continuously developed through three generations. In mid-2009, it received a facelift to fit it into Renault's current design concept.

The Kia Rio is also available in Germany in the third generation since 2000. It was overhauled just last year. The Rio's fresh design is the brainchild of the German designer Peter Schreyer, who quit VW in 2006 to work for KIA and has meanwhile molded Kia's new image.
