In Nicaragua, rainfall has declined. During periods of little rainfall, farmers have to rely on well water and expensive irrigation pumps. Solar energy could be a solution.

Climate change has caused rainfall to decline in Nicaragua, which has an effect on farming. Now a German teacher has joined with a Nicaraguan to help make solar-powered irrigation pumps available to farmers. It's a worthwhile investment because solar-powered irrigation systems are cheaper over the long run.
