Correcting a Cleft Lip and Palate

A cleft lip and palate can make eating and drinking difficult, and also cause problems with breathing, hearing and speaking. It's also psychologically traumatic. The condition can now be successfully treated with a multidisciplinary approach involving the combined efforts of oral and maxillofacial surgeons, orthodontists, ears, nose and throat specialists and speech therapists.
