Could a Computer App Revolutionize Kenyan Schools?

Many schools in Kenya suffer from underfunding, with a lack of both teachers and materials. Many hope tablet computers fitted with a new app could now help change that.

The "eLimu" app has been put to the test in two of Nairobi's slum districts. It was created by a team of Kenyan developers, with content based on the national curriculum. It contains all the information needed to pass exams and features animations, videos, games and quizzes, designed to make the learning process more interactive and engaging for the pupils.
