Crystal meth is one of the most potently addictive drugs in the world. Mühlhausen in eastern Germany is now home to a refuge that is the last hope for many addicts. The Hainich psychiatric clinic treats 250 patients a year. Most of them, say the doctors, do not take the drug as an escape. The actual reason is in fact pressure to perform in modern society.
