Europe's newest and youngest prime minister, Stanislav Gross, 34, now leads his coalition with a one seat majority in the lower house of parliament, which has a total of 200 seats. Former Prime Minister Vladimir Spidla resigned in June following the Social Democrat Party's embarrassing results in the European Parliament elections. The vote of confidence was a formality required by the Czech constitution. Gross, and his pro-Europe administration, wants to hold a referendum on the European Constitution and also aspires to joining the euro before the decade is over. (EUobserver.com)
