DaimlerChrysler's years-long effort to set up a joint venture with China's state-owned First Automotive Work has collapsed, the business newspaper Handelsblatt reported on Wednesday. A spokesman for the American-German company, based in Stuttgart, had no comment on the report. DaimlerChrysler launched the talks in an effort to expand its truck sales in China.
