Darknet - the hidden side of the internet

Ordinary users of the internet are identified by a unique IP-address. But there's an alternative: portals that enable users to surf anonymously.

The term "darknet" made headlines in October 2011 when the hacker-collective known as Anonymous attacked an Indian server that traded in child pornography. But the darknet has two sides. Because it protects the user's identity, it's also popular with criminals pursuing illegal activities.
