Deutsche Bahn Chief Hartmut Mehdorn has quit after coming under enormous political pressure

The CEO of Germany's state-owned rail operator, Deutche Bahn has resigned. Harmut Mehdorn had been under pressure for months over allegations that Deutsche Bahn had spied on its staff. New revelations came at the week-end, showing the company had suppressed e-mails from union officials. Mehdorn still claims he did nothing illegal - and until Sunday - had vowed to stay on in his post.
