Difficult Past - A School and its Dark Nazi History

For decades, Werner Abelein was a teacher at the Friedrich-Eugens Gymnasium, a preparatory high school in Stuttgart. When he retired he was writing an account of the school's history, and in the archives came upon papers documenting the fate of Jewish pupils there during the Nazi era.

After World War II, the school played a role in trying to make sure the story of those pupils, tormented by teachers and classmates alike, would be forgotten.
