Time and again, terrorist attacks and natural disasters leave many people in great need. Philipp Fischer from the Clinic for Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery at Bonn University Clinic has taken part in several emergency medical missions abroad - for instance, in Haiti and the Philippines.

He has specialized in dealing with crisis situations and developing new training programs for hospitals and medical personnel in such exceptional circumstances. His latest project: building up a European medical strike force for disaster areas.
