Does DRM allow to transmit text?

There are many possibilities to transmit text information together with the DRM audio signal.

As a first step, stations will be able to transmit their names and a text consisting of 128 signs, comparable to RDS (Radio Data System) on FM. Additional features will make it possible to transmit further information concerning the programme or even pictures. Transmitting large amounts of text or data will, however, inevitably reduce the audio quality. (lu)
