In the past, Trump has made comments about acquiring international assets, such as the Panama Canal or Greenland. Now he says he wants the US to regain control of Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan. 

Bagram was the main hub for US forces in Afghanistan during the two decades of war that followed the September 11 attacks on the United States in 2001.
