Twenty years after the massacre in Beijing's Tiananmen Square the world is still looking to China to acknowledge the tragedy. The topic has remained a taboo in the People's Republic, as has the pro-democracy movement which sparked it. Bilateral relations with China have, however, normalized the world over.
