The United States says it is afraid Libya will sink into civil war unless Muammar Ghaddafi quits soon. There are also concerns of a humanitarian crisis as thousands try to flee the unrest in the country. UN refugee officials say some 15,000 people a day are attempting to cross the borders into Tunisia or Egypt.
