Almost eight months ago, Deutsche Welle lost two of its journalists, Karen Fischer and Christian Struwe, in Afghanistan. They were making their way from the northern province of Baghlan to neighbouring Bamiyan, when they were shot dead at night. To pay homage to them, DW's English and German programmes have set up a project called "Aid for Afghanistan".
