DW Enhances Presence in Myanmar

Germany has strongly condemned the arrests of pro-democracy protesters in Myanmar and threatened the military junta with serious repercussions. Germany’s foreign ministry spokesman has called on the junta to hold talks with the opposition without setting conditions. Meanwhile, DW has set out a new broadcast strategy for Myanmar.

Deutsche Welle can now be heard via shortwave in Myanmar on 9485 kHz at 1600-1700 UTC.

From October 28, Deutsche Welle will be heard in Kabul on FM 90,50 MHz and via shortwave in East Asia on 7265 kHz, 9785 kHz and 15595 kHz, and in South Asia on 1548 kHz, 5965 kHz and 9795 kHz.
