EADS reaches deal to save A400M

The future of the Airbus A400M military transport plan received a badly-needed shot in the arm today after a group of European NATO countries pledged to support the project to completion. The A400M project is far over budget, and Airbus parent company, EADS, had threatened to cancel development if countries could not agree to additional funding. The A400 would allow European countries to become more independent of US arms suppliers.
