Rescue work is underway in China after the country’s worst earthquake in three decades. The 7.9 magnitude quake hit the south-western province of Sichuan on Monday, claiming more than 12,000 lives. Officials fear the death toll could rise sharply, as thousands of victims are still missing or buried in the debris.
