East Germany's Forced Laborers

Prisoners in the former Communist East Germany performed assembly-line labor for starvation wages. Many West German companies did good business with the products of this labor. Now it turns out that West Germany was not just profiting from the prisoners’ sweat and toil, but quite literally from their blood, as well.
