Eastern and South-Eastern Europe: East4South Applications

The second cycle of East4South is now open for applications. DW-AKADEMIE is looking for students from the new EU member states to participate in an African-European media project.

Ten students from new EU member states in Eastern and South-Eastern Europe will get the chance to work with professional journalists from sub-Saharan Africa. Each African/European team will investigate a story related to the challenges and opportunities of humanitarian cooperation – on the ground in sub-Saharan Africa.

Experienced media professionals from DW-AKADEMIE will prepare the teams for this project. After the field trip, professionals will supervise the post-production of high-quality reports for TV, radio, print and/or online. The project is designed as an extracurricular activity for which students will receive a certificate. They will also receive the final reports they produced and can offer these to their home media.

East4South is an awareness-raising development project. It is co-financed by the European Union and conducted by DW-AKADEMIE in cooperation with the European Journalism Centre (EJC) and Prospective Internationale (PI).
