Following the BMW i8 sold under the “BMW i” sub-brand, the X5 xDrive40e is the first production plug-in hybrid from BMW. Combined output is 230 kW from the 4-cylinder gasoline engine with TwinPower turbo technology and a synchronous electric motor.

With a fully charged battery the X5 xDrive40e has a range of over 30 kilometers on all-electric power. Out on country roads you can rely solely on electric mobility or use the full system output. BMW also has apps to accompany its plug-in hybrid. They can display the nearest charging station or remote-check the battery level.
