A first round of voting in Egypt's parliamentary elections is set to take place on November 28. The situation is tense, with a power struggle among the military, about 50 parties, and young revolutionaries. Germany's Human Rights Commissioner Markus Löning recently visited the country.

In Cairo, he spoke with revolutionaries, relatives of revolutionaries, jailed members of the opposition, representatives of parties, and diplomats. We accompanied him on his mission to promote democracy.
