# The imprisoned Chinese dissident - Liu Xiaobo has won this year's Nobel Peace Prize. The Norwegian Nobel committee praised Liu for his long and non-violent struggle for fundemental human rights in China. The Beijing authorities called the award "obscene". Before the announcement Chinese officials had warned Norway of potential damage to bilateral relations.
