Escape from East Berlin

When they began building the Berlin Wall, Hartmut Richter knew he had to escape. In the 28 years that the Berlin Wall divided the city, at least 136 people were killed trying to get to West Berlin. Richter risked his life and went on to help more than 30 others flee.
