Essen-based company acquires a Methanol Plant in Trinidad

With the acquisition of a new facility in Trinidad, the Essen- based subsidiary of MAN, Ferrostaal, will soon have the world's largest factory dedicated to the production of Methanol, according to a report released by the company on Monday in Munich. Ferrostaal acquired the factory at a cost of €443 million from Methanol Holdings Trinidad Ltd. (MHTL) and is expected to have a capacity of 5,400 tons, more than double its current output, when it goes into production under the Ferrostaal banner in 2005.
