EU leaders edge towards agreement on climate change and the economic crisis - je 12.12.2008 08

European leaders meeting in Brussels appear to have reached agreement on how to tackle the current economic crisis and global warming. Reports suggest the EU will commit itself to a stimulus package worth 200 Bbillion Euros. At the same time - it will stick by its ambitious goal to cutting greenhouses gases by 2020. This comes after a day of tough negotiations - as the 27 member bloc struggled to accommodate the concerns of various member countries.
