As the EU tightens migration and plans to step up its return policies, one country is being closely watched by other EU members: Cyprus, which is seen to have been particularly successful with its return policy.

The new EU migration pact, set to take effect in June, will tighten controls at Europe’s borders. Asylum seekers will face mandatory screenings, using biometric data to track applications across the EU.
