# European energy officials are calling on member states to spend 1- Ttrillion Euros on energy production over the next 20-years to reduce pollution and ensure supply. In an early draft of the EUs "Energy 2020" strategy, energy chief Guenther Oettinger says "the energy challenge is one of the greatest tests Europe has to face."
