European Commission chief Jean-Claude Juncker has 40 years of political experience, but in the Western Balkans he faces an especially tricky task. Juncker wants states such as Serbia and Albania to join the EU, but only if they implement far-reaching reforms.

EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker is embarking on one of his most difficult missions - a four-day tour through the western Balkans - a largely forgotten political powder keg. States like Serbia or Albania are looking towards Europe, and people have high hopes of Juncker's visit. Perhaps the EU is finally getting serious about membership.
