EU-Russian border traffic

Before the crisis in Ukraine, a pilot project between the EU and Russia was launched. An agreement on small border traffic and cross-border cooperation was struck between the region around the city of Olsztyn in Poland, now part of Warmia-Masuria province, and the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad. Poles and Russians can now cross the border without major visa formalities.

The regional economic boom that’s resulted is now being endangered by the aftermath of the crisis in Ukraine. Report by Karl Harenbrock
