In our series on renovated homes in Germany, we travel to Kaufbeuren to see the small apartment building that Klaus Kehrbaum bought. Made in the 1960s, this architect saw the apartment's potential but hated its look. So he gutted it, creating more openings for natural light. He also overed it in slate. Instead of 10 apartments there is now one 400 square meter home. It is very energy efficient.
