Europe takes on more responsibility in NATO

The United States will begin stationing long-range missiles in Germany from 2026. Washington and Berlin say the deployment cements their commitment to NATO and European defense. The weapons are nuclear-capable and have a range of more than two thousand kilometres. They were banned under a treaty with Russia, until the US withdrew from that treaty five years ago.
