Time to get back to business. For 40 years, Volkswagen has enjoyed special legal protection from hostile takeovers. That ended Tuesday when the European Court of Justice said the so-called Volkswagen law violates the free flow of capital. This is part of a movement in the European Union to undo economic protectionism and open up markets.
