A US military investigation reportedly finds that a misguided US strike hit an elementary school in Minab, Iran, killing more than 150, most of them children. The Trump administration has so far denied any responsibility.

The elementary school in Minab was hit on February 28, at the start of the US‑Israel war with Iran.

Human Rights Watch conducted an initial analysis, along with several media outlets, including The New York Times, CNN and the BBC. Their assessments found that the available evidence points to the United States military being responsible for the strike.

According to The New York Times, the incident was "likely" caused by a US Tomahawk missile aimed at a nearby Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps naval base. The school is believed to have been damaged by another missile fired in the same attack.
