China’s intelligence agency is warning that the increasing powers of artificial intelligence could threaten the country’s political stability, cybersecurity and control over information. In an interview with Rebecca Arcesati, of the Mercator Institute for China Studies, DW examines why Beijing is growing more concerned about advanced AI capabilities, including cyberrisks and dependence on foreign models.
