Jesus and Buddah

In the age of cheap travel and increasing globalization, more Europeans than ever before have turned to Eastern religions, and Buddhism has become increasingly popular in the traditional heartland of Christianity. That’s no surprise, say scholars such as the German Lutheran theologian, Michael von Brück, who has made a special study of the similarities and differences between Christianity and Buddhism. Professor von Brück argues that the teachings of Jesus and Buddha are like two spiritual languages, growing out of two distinct cultures. Each explains the world and human existence in its own way. Exploring these two spiritual “languages” has led the Munich professor to focus on the essence of religion itself.
