First UN aid convoy reaches Gori - je 18.08.2008 08

In South Ossetia itself, the president of the separatist region dismissed his government late Sunday, saying it has been too slow to distribute humanitarian aid. In Gori, a Russian-occupied town beyond South Ossetia, displaced people are also desperately awaiting help. UN officials said large-scale aid deliveries were still being held up and put the number of people displaced at nearly 160 thousand.
