Flirting Phones

DW Staff (gb) November 27, 2004

A German publisher of dictionaries has come up with a new way to promote international understanding across Europe: A multi-lingual flirt dictionary for mobile phones.

The new service from Langenscheidt contains around 600 phrases, with guidance through the practical problems of how to proceed from first approach to first kiss.

It even provides a selection of phrases showing how to end a relationship in the politest and most painless way possible. With the service being offered in English, French, Italian and Spanish, whether you're in London, Paris, Rome or Madrid, there will be no problem in trying to attract a local.

In order to save any embarrassment, and should the chosen flirting partner not be a native speaker, a handy phonetic spelling accompanies all phrases.

Langenscheidt's service is offered to customers of all leading mobile networks of Germany and Austria. For each language a download costs around €4 ($5.30). Flirting without borders- from Alicante to San Francisco.
