Israeli officials are investigating whether a Flydubai co-pilot’s alleged attack on the captain was a failed terror plot, prevented by passengers, crew and off-duty pilots. Warning: graphic footage of blood and injury.

An investigation is underway after a co-pilot allegedly stabbed the captain of a Flydubai flight carrying more than 170 people from Dubai to Tel Aviv. According to passengers, the aircraft plunged around 14,000 feet before crew members, passengers and off-duty pilots intervened and regained control. The injured captain, Smit Machchhar, is being praised for helping prevent a disaster, while Israeli officials examine whether the incident may have been a failed terror attack. The suspect was arrested after the plane was safely diverted to Saudi Arabia.
