German farmers want federal aid to assist them after a heatwave affected their harvests. However, according to Matin Qaim, Professor of International Food Economics and Rural Development at the Georg-August University in Göttingen, the biggest concerns over food shortages as a result of climate change should be focused on already impoverished regions such as Africa and south Asia.
