#The British scientist Robert Edwards has been awarded the Nobel Prize for Medicine. He and a colleague were pioneers of in-vitro fertilisation or IVF - which made it possible for millions of infertile couples to have children. The first test-tube baby was born in 1978 - and she was amongst the first to congratulate Edwards for his achievements.
