One of them is 86-year-old Pascaline Cahen-Magnard. The secretary of the mayor, in 1943 she forged thousands of IDs for people who had gone into hiding in Dieulefit, while the local priest issued hundreds of fake christening certificates. What happened in this village during the Second World War only came to light a few years ago, partly thanks to the testimony of Cahen-Magnard.
