Ali Mohebi is a refugee from Afghanistan. He was deeply disturbed by the recent rape and murder of a student in Freiburg and the circumstances of the crime. The alleged killer is a 17-year-old Afghan refugee. The 19-year-old victim had done volunteer work at a refugee center. Ali Mohebi has decided to go to Freiburg and organize a silent vigil for her. He is hoping it will help to counter the racist sentiment the crime has drawn in its wake, both in Freiburg and on social media. Most of the ongoing debate in Germany regarding the handling of refugees and unacommpanied minors in particular has been constructive. Often, however, it's being drowned out by inflammatory rants and attacks on those offering help and support. Now, the network to which the victim had devoted her efforts to has largely ceased its activities. Can Ali Mohebi find sympathetic ears in the current atmosphere of tension?
