The shooting of 17-year-old Nahel Merzouk by a Paris officer police in June 2023 sparked fierce unrest. Now, a group of parents from the Paris suburb of Vigneux-sur-Seine is working to prevent such violence and build trust between youths and the police. But anger and distrust run deep.
