The battle line in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict runs between the border towns of Sderot and Gaza. Nothing but a wall and a few hundred meters separate these neighboring communities, yet their residents almost never meet.

Amidst bombs and war, there is also plenty of hatred in these towns. But there are also people on both sides who are trying to forge friendships across the hostile border. These are not your normal friendships. The people here live in the shadow of death. They have lost friends, loved ones and property. But instead of hate, they have chosen love. They are bridging a river of blood with friendship. Unlike most friends, they hardly ever see each other - because their respective governments forbid it. Nonetheless, organizing and communicating by phone and social media, these friends have managed to hold events and rallies in both Sderot and Gaza, often at the risk of their very lives.
