From India to Pakistan to Germany

Immigration is a controversial issue in Germany as in many other countries. The Turkish community is by far the biggest and most noticed group of migrants here. But more and more, Asian-born Germans are also starting to receive attention.

Hasnain Kazim was born in Northern Germany to Pakistani parents. He went on to become a journalist and is now the correspondent for the German news magazine "Der Spiegel" in Islamabad.

Hasnain Kazim recently published a book on the story of his family's immigration and integration in Germany, called "Grünkohl und Curry" - something like "Cabbage and Curry".
